A beautifully appointed kitchen opens up onto an outdoor dining room, deck & plunge pool. In the evening relax and enjoy your favorite movies in the living room on a 58″ plasma TV with Bose surround sound. Paradise has never been so good!
How will your vacation be green? Villa Matija takes advantage of the abundant sunshine in the BVI with a solar hot water system and photovoltaic (PV) panels installed to generate electricity from the sun. Although we’re not able to generate all our electricity in this manner, the system provides consistent power as would a backup generator, but without the noise or pollution. A portion of the house’s electrical needs are met by the PV panels with the rest coming from the municipal power supply. And don’t worry, our solar hot water is backed up by a traditional hot water heater that provides an abundant supply of hot water whatever time of day you need to shower.
Brewers Bay beach, one of the most beautiful in the BVI, is just a short 3 minute drive down the hill. Cane Garden Bay, another favorite BVI beach, is a short 10 minute drive. Road Town, the capital of the BVI is also a 10 minute drive away, yet when you’re at Villa Matija, you feel like you’re in another world!
Enjoy the beaches, snorkeling or just lounge at the house. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll be glad you chose Villa Matija as your home during your BVI vacation.

Beautiful Location
Good place for two couples because there are two equal bedroom suites.
All around a great spot
The villa is in a convenient location, 10min to Road Town and 5min Brewers Bay beach. It has everything you need, good kitchen, AC for cool sleeping, pool, washer/dryer, and amazing views! Renting the SUV from Tom was easy; an SUV is a MUST as roads are steep and have lots of potholes. Thanks Tom and Jessica for hosting us. We had a lovely time!
Great view and helpful host
Tom and Jessica were responsive and made sure our stay was enjoyable. The villa was well-equipped and comfortable. We had a wonderful relaxing time, enjoying the pool and view. Both bedrooms were large- perfect for all four adults. A vehicle is essential even though it isn’t far to beach and restaurants as it’s hilly but the owners provide one at reasonable cost and make the process very easy.
Our trip was amazing!
We arrived by ferry after spending time in St. Thomas which was lovely. Tom met us at the terminal and happily led us to their beautiful home. Thanks goodness he did because we would have had problems getting there as there are no addresses on the island. The house sits on top of a mountain and the views are spectacular day and night. The sunsets were to die for. The house was very well equipped and the beds were comfy. The pool was an extra bonus which we enjoyed. We rented Tom's car which was a great idea as it performed with great ease going up and down the mountains. Our favorite beach to visit was Brewer's Bay. Very quiet and the pelicans put on a show for free each day diving for their meals. What a treat. The snorkeling was fantastic as well. Thank you very much for opening your lovely home to us. We plan on returning and will certainly stay at Villa Matija.

This Villa has great owners who are attentive to your needs from the minute you book. We encourage you to consider Tortola for your next vacation as the island is working hard to recover from the horrific hurricanes. They have done a great job. The beaches are beautiful...our choice for prettiest is Josiah’s Bay and best for swimming/relaxation is Cane Garden Bay.
