It features a newly constructed ground floor apartment that is spacious, well decorated and very clean. The cool living area with central AC is great and the location is over the top! The open kitchen/ dining area and living area, master bedroom have stunning views of the tidal river. There is a shaded and private outdoor area with table and chairs, sheltered from the sun and heat of midday. The colorful perennial garden and lawn has large granite steps that lead down to the dock. At low tide you can explore the beach and at high tide you can jump off the dock for a swim! The use of kayaks, chairs and umbrellas, toys and lifejackets etc. is included. This is a perfect place for an individual, couple, or small family. The owners live upstairs are very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed at many rentals all over the world and this was by far one of the most beautiful. This apartment is wonderful....The owners are very friendly and the place has everything you will need Future renters should be advised of the following The second bedroom is small, has a single bunk bed set up and no windows The place is located on the Annisquam River. Gloucester has 6 to 8 ft tides. (This is important to know and advise)The height varies some related to the movement of the moon. There are 2 low tides and 2 high tides every 24 hrs. The times change each day. When the tide is high, one can jump off the owners dock into 6 or 8 ft refreshing clean water. When the tide is out, (low) the dock is in the mud. The mud is firm and stable to walk on. You might want to wear your sandals however. At low tide, many people walk across this hard mud to the deep water which is at the edge of the boat channel. Know when the tides are high & when they are low so you won't get caught by the incoming tide and have to swim back (TidesNearMe is a good app). I like to swim at high tide and dig clams at low tide. The clams can be found right off the dock..........but be careful because if there has been a recent "red tide" then the clams shouldn't be eaten. The owner will advise.

The view is beautiful and the atmosphere serene. We have already booked another stay.
