Welcome to The Vintner's House in Hammondsport! Located within a block of the town square in this small village, this house is special indeed! Hammondsport has been voted the 'America's Coolest Small Town' and is full of old, quaint homes, fantastic restaurants and fun store fronts and shops.
The Vintner's Place has some fantastic history and was built in the early 1900's. Much of the house is still original and boasts lovely trim details. The house is a Sears and Roebuck house, which means that the original owner chose, and purchased, the house from the Sears catalog, the pieces were all packaged and shipped via rail car to the house site, and the house was put together like a giant puzzle with numbered pieces. An interesting piece of history!
Inside The Vintner's House, you’ll be excited to find a lovely newly remodeled, fully furnished kitchen with new appliances! The kitchen has an eat-in dining area and attached butler's pantry.
The Living room is partially open to the dining area and kitchen, and has an attached small sitting area with a fireplace.
There is a full bath located just off of the Living Room with an old claw foot soaker tub and shower.
Upstairs you’ll find 3 cozy bedrooms, one large Master bedroom with a Queen size bed and two additional bedrooms with Double beds. There is also an additional sitting room/library room upstairs. The Master bedroom has it's own balcony facing the yard and the Library room also has doors onto a balcony overlooking the street...wonderful places to sit, relax, have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and enjoy the slower pace of life in Hammondsport. There is a second full bath located upstairs, outside of the Master bedroom. This bath has a standup shower and a washer/dryer for you to use during your stay.
The back yard is small and quiet. There is a charcoal BBQ grill for you to use.
The location of the house will not disappoint – far enough off the main street to give you quiet on your vacation but close enough to walk downtown and explore the restaurants, shops and attractions in Hammondsport. The house is a short 5 minute walk from Keuka lake and there are several places to rent or put a kayak or boat in the water as well as a park to enjoy at the end of the lake.
