About the Property

My place is close to art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the antiques and Rococo molding. There is a city view from a terrace and we are walking distance to English Village and 5 Points South with best restaurants in Birmingham. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. We are close to the Virginia Samford Theatre and Caldwell Park so walking to the theatre and park is an option.

The space
A unique experience like a visit to the 20's but with modern conveniences. Bring your bathing suits for a luxurious hot tub massage on back deck with colored lights and stereo. If you want to plug in your IPOD you can. There is a door from one bedroom to terrace with view of the city. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooktop and double ovens, a Keurig Coffee Maker and dishwasher. A food processor is also available for those who cook although great restaurants are very close in all directions.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the house but basement is reserved for owners. Owners have 2 closets reserved but there is plenty of closet space for guests.

Great location!

The house is even better than the photos. Very spacious. We never even went out the three days we were there. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home

This was quite possibly the most beautiful home I’ve ever been in. Thanks to lynn and her husband for being so accommodating.

Wonderful!

Lynn & Steve's place is wonderful. If you are looking for a cozy and unique experience, this is the place for you. The old home has incredible character and is loaded with paintings and art and so much to see. It is decorated with great beauty but not so much that you feel like you are going to break something expensive. Additionally, Lynn and Steve are kind, engaging but not over bearing. They provide a yummy breakfast and are happy to customize it to your needs or wishes. My personal favorite aspect of the home was the balcony with the beautiful view off the room we stayed in. (They have one cat, so if you aren't a cat person or are allergic you should be aware).

Awesome experience

We found this to be a uniquely gracious relaxing setting. The home is majestic sitting on a hill in a great section of Birmingham near one of the charming Village town main streets full of shopping and restaurants. . The French Second Empire interior put us back in time in France, well appointed but with modern ammenities. We will always treasure fond memories of our hostess being a gourmet cook; genuine engaging conversation with an accomadating, traveled couple, skilled in hospitality. We also loved how relaxing and low key the entire visit was. As you see we feel like we have new found friends.

Excellent

Beware of the location on the hill with steep steps and difficult access to the home. if you have any mobility issues this is not your place. The neighborhood is in a lovely area but still undergoing restoration of properties some are still run down. No parking onsite we parked at the neighbors and walked over. The home is beautiful but needs a lot of work. Birmingham is a beautiful city and the view from the hill is lovely!
