About the Property

Our Bonita Beach home is located near the Collier County/Lee County border, in Caroland, a peninsula of Little Hickory Island on Estero Bay, comprised of exclusive million dollar private homes.
 
We are only 2/10 mile direct straight line distance from the Gulf of Mexico but are quietly nestled near end of the unique residential peninsula.
 
Our deep-water private boat dock provides access to the Gulf of Mexico through a choice of passes, the largest of which is New Pass at Lovers Key.  The dock’s outer section is 24 ft. in length. Our tenants may motor or sail their boat from our dock to explore Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve and the Imperial River, or cruise via the Gulf of Mexico, past Fort Myers Beach to Sanibel and Captive Islands.  
 
We provide a small boat for tenant's use.  Oars for boat, life jackets, and fishing rods are provided. Boat, kayak, paddle board and bicycle rentals are available nearby.
 
Our tenants view Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve from each room of this unique home, quietly situated near the end of this peninsula, but only 6/10 mile (by road) to the Gulf of Mexico at Beach Access # 5 on Hickory Blvd (at the end of our street) and enjoy viewing sunrise and sunset over Estero Bay and wildlife including; bottlenose dolphin, manatee, egret, pelican, heron, osprey, bald eagle.  
 
We believe the unique location of our Bonita Beach home directly on Estero Bay offers unique proximity to the estuary, aquatic preserve, beaches, and navigation to the Gulf of Mexico.  While located in the quiet private residential neighborhood on a peninsula of Little Hickory Island, it is a short drive to services, restaurants, shops, attractions, etc. in Bonita Springs, Fort Meyers Beach, Estero, and Naples.
 
From our home, tenants may drive North on Hickory Blvd to Carl E. Johnson State Park at Lover's Key, and onto Fort Myers Beach or drive South to Barefoot Beach Preserve Park.
 
Our spacious single level home provides easy access via the main entrance (2 steps) or attached 2-car garage (5 steps). The comfortably furnished spacious living room opens onto a large screened lanai. There is a formal dining room and a large kitchen with breakfast nook.
 
Our custom home was built with a split design layout. It is 1950 sq. ft. "under air" and also a large screened lanai and a large two car garage. The master bedroom is located on the Northern side of the home with the two guest bedrooms located on the Southern side of the home. The main living areas (entrance hall, living room, dining room, and eat-in kitchen) are located in the center of the home. Each bedroom has windows on two walls which provide nice views of Estero Bay.  
 
The main living areas (living room and dining room) have cathedral ceilings. The living room opens onto the large lanai with a bank of sliding doors which recede behind the lanai wall to provide a totally open transition from the living room onto the screened lanai.
 
The large master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed with Chatham Wells 16 in. deep innerspring mattress.  There is an adjoining master bathroom with oversized extra deep tub. 
 
One guest room is furnished with a queen bed with a Chatham Wells 16 in. deep innerspring mattress,  The second guest room has twin beds, each with quality innerspring mattresses. The guest rooms share the main bathroom located off of the connecting hallway.  
 
All bedding (box spring and mattress) and pillows are fully encased by protective covering. We supply bed linens, extra pillows, and blankets. Each bedroom has more than ample closet space, bureau storage, night tables and lamps, and a clock radio. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet. The twin guest bedroom has two closets.
 
Master and guest bathrooms each have ceramic tile floors and ceramic tile tub surrounds, and heat lamps. Each is a full bathroom with sink, toilet, and combination tub and shower. The master bathroom has ample storage in the vanity, a large mirror with overhead lighting, and a medicine cabinet.  The guest bathroom has more than ample storage in the large vanity, an extra-large mirror with overhead lighting, a medicine cabinet, and a linen closet. The master bathroom has private access from the master bedroom. The guest bathroom is accessed from the hall connecting the two guest bedrooms
 

Our home is equipped with a flat screen 36 in. HDTV with a DVD and VHS player in the living room and a flat screen 36 in. HDTV with a VHS player in the master bedroom. Each television carries extended basic cable service. 

We provide high-speed wired and wireless broadband Internet connectivity by two service providers, to maintain reliable connectivity for “work from home” needs. 

Additional equipment includes; stereo system with CD player, a portable telephone, an automatic telephone answering machine, and a clock radio in each bedroom.

The laundry room located between the foyer and attached garage provides a utility sink, large capacity washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
 
The kitchen is equipped with a stainless steel interior almost silent when running dishwasher, frost-free refrigerator with automated ice maker, ceramic smooth top range with 5 radiant elements and speed bake convection oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, electric can opener, and electric juicer. 
 
The house is very well supplied with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, bed linens, blankets, towels, pillows, beach chairs, vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies, etc.
 
There is rubbish and recycle pickup weekly. We also provide for professional lawn maintenance.
 
There is a propane gas grill for outdoor cooking.
 
Due to owner allergies, we must restrict rentals to no smokers without pets (of any type or any size).

 


Cancellation Policy

Compliance with deed restrictions for Caroland.

Due to owner allergy and repeat tenants with allergies, pets (of any type, breed, or size) are absolutely not permitted and we restrict rentals to non-smokers.

Maximum occupancy is limited to six (6) persons and our rental agreement stipulates that the property shall not be used for any function or gathering of more than the maximum number of occupants without our prior written permission.

Upon cancellation of a confirmed reservation, we return payment received only if and when the property is re-rented for the full term of the lease and a re-booking fee of 10% of total rent is deducted from amount returned

By law we must also collect combined (FL state and Lee County) 6.5% sales tax plus Lee County 5% Tourist Development Tax of total rent (excluding fees) 

Our weekly rental rates listed by season provide discounts relative to our peak season weekly rate. Discount available for extended stay rentals (excluding Holiday and Peak Season) 

A security deposit is taken for any long distance telephone, damage, or cleaning charges. We personally inspect between tenants and ensure that the property is to our standards. 

We expect a tenant to remove their personal belongings, food, etc., and to leave the house in a presentable condition. Our cleaning fee is pro-rated at $150.00 for 1 or 2 occupants, $175.00 for 3 or 4 occupants, $200.00 for 5 or 6 occupants.

There also is a nominal processing fee of $150.00 

Maximum occupancy is 6 persons. 

Listed dates reflect rental night. Check out is next day. 

Normal check in time is 3:00 PM.  

Normal check out time is 10:00 AM. 

If possible, we adjust check in and check out time to accommodate travel schedules. Saturday turnover day is preferred in Season. 

We accept payment by check for US funds or we can provide wiring instructions.  We are not equipped to accept credit card payment directly but are able to receive payment through PayPal which would require an additional cost to you of 3% of any payment. 

We request a deposit of 1/2 the total rent upon reserving time. 

We request the balance and security deposit two months before the rental begins.

A perfect retreat...

This home is tucked away on a very private, quiet road and is at the end of a cul-de-sac. However, it is incredibly convenient to all of the offerings in Bonita Springs and Naples -- 1/2 mile to the broad beaches of Bonita Springs, minutes away from shopping, less than 1/2 hour to Naples. We have four young children and found this home to be perfect for us. VERY well maintained -- three bedrooms with incredibly comfortable beds, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen (with anything you may require) and an incredible view of Estero bay with access to the Gulf of Mexico. The home has four sets of sliding doors that fully "vanish" behind the living room wall to completely open the house to a beautiful lanai. Truly a calm, comfortable retreat! We spent our days on the beach (10 minute walk or an easy drive to any of Bonita's beaches) and spent each night taking a leisurely walk along the street -- without having to worry about traffic/conjestion that is prevalent on most other streets in Bonita Springs. The home had plenty of space for the six of us and was SO much better than a hotel/condo. We will definitely be back at this house! Owners were terrific to deal with and are very responsive.

Pleasant Piece of Paradise in Bonita Beach

Highly recommended. This is a lovely property on a quiet cul-de-sac and close to a secluded section of beach in the Bonita Beach neighborhood. It is a large and well-maintained home--far more than what my father and I needed! It would be great for more people--easily 6 people. It has all you need--nice kitchen, very large screened in porch looking out onto the bay and, if conditions right, you can hear the waves on the nearby beach. Safe, quiet, clean. There is a small boat (although we never used it) and a dock. Fishing poles, beach chairs and umbrellas, 2 car garage, grill--it is all there and a wonderful home away from home. And all in the sun and warmth of south Florida. To be balanced (although there are very few downsides), the house is mostly carpeted and it is about a 15 minute walk to the beach (which was too far for my 84 year old father). Still, these are very minor quibbles, as this is a very nice property that will serve as an excellent home if you are looking for peace and quiet close to a pretty isolated part of the beach. We were there for 11 days in early February, and on our part of the beach, there were long stretches with no one close to us. Wifi worked well, as I had to be connected to work every day. You won't be disappointed staying here. Owners Kathleen and Michael were always available (although there were no problems), pleasant, and quick to respond (although as I said, there were no problems and we were happy to just do our own thing).

We had a terrific time at this Estero Bay home! Everything was clean and tidy, all the right cooking equipment, comfortable furniture, WiFi and varied activities for our crew. I spent many hours with my 4th and 2nd grade sons fishing from the dock and row boat, catching enough to keep it exciting but no whoppers (which is OK since my little guys were afraid of getting anything too large on their line). The provided fishing gear was great. We bought one bag of frozen shrimp at Master Bait and Tackle which lasted us all week. Very comfortable. We had my parents join us for dinner twice, and we had plenty of room on the lanai for all 8 of us. The beach is a nice walk through a quiet neighborhood. While it might be tempting to drive to the water, parking is very tight. Much more enjoyable to simply pack light and have a stroll. Spring Break weather was wonderful. And being close to my parents allowed us to see them frequently enough without our crazy crew overwhelming them. We love Hickory Grill and The Fish House for seafood dinners. Grocery store is convenient within a 10-min drive. We'll definitely check availability next time we are in the area!

Excellent House on Estero Bay

Our party of four stayed in this well-equipped and well-maintained, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home in Bonita Springs for two weeks in January/February. The house is situated on the water with the screened-in lanai overlooking Estero Bay. Bonita Beach is a short walk through the architecturally-interesting Caroland development with easy access to the Gulf through Beach Access #5. Rental arrangements and details were very competently and professionally handled by the owners. We found the property to be the perfect accommodation for a relaxing Southwest Florida vacation.

Enjoyed every moment of it. Good communications with the owner. Porch is the greatest, looking over Estero Bay. Best restaurants, Zorba's for Greek Food, Komoon for Thai. Get off the highways to find nature. Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve up by Ft. Myers, Lover's Key State Park has fine walking trails.

Great House For 2 Couples

We flew out from the Pacific Northwest to spend 2 lovely week with dear old friends who now live on the East Coast. This was an ideal house as it gave us each some private area. The spacious porch was a delight. We enjoyed the birds and "flying fish" Mullets, I believe. We even had a dolphin swim by one morning. The ladies had long walks on the beach which is only about 1/2 mile away. Perfect location!

We had a very relaxing and fun two week stay. We walked the beach everyday and sat with a glass of wine at night on the lanai. The lanai was a perfect place to hang out when we had had enough sun. My husband spent many hours fishing from the rowboat on the canal. We especially liked two restaurants, The Fresh Catch bistro in Ft. Myers and A Table Apart in Bonita Springs.

Our family has returned to this private Bonita Beach home for the fourth year with our elderly parents(92 and 90 years of age) for our winter getaway. It has a beautiful view, quiet and relaxing area for reading in the sun or walking to the beach. The fishing, especially this year, was fantastic right off the dock. Almost every time we threw out we'd get a bite within minutes. We even snagged a 45-50 pound stingray. This home is well equipped to make your favorite meal or you could find a special place to eat from the numerous restaurants. Rib City and Pewter Mug are our favorites. We also found our evening treats at the Orange Leaf, Royal Scoop, or making blizzards in the kitchen. We highly recommend this home to anyone who would enjoy a quiet, relaxing getaway within the area of beaches, shopping, good food, and fishing.
